Middle of the week and the infection rate is growing...Cardiff and RCT lead the way with case numbers...

There have been 1,141  new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW bringing the total cases to 822,937. There were 6 coronavirus deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths has risen to 7,039The latest infection rate based on PCR tests for the seven days up to March 4 is now 184.9 cases for every 100,000 people a rise from the 178 cases recorded on Tuesday. The local authority showing the highest infection rate for the seven days up to March 4 was Blaenau Gwent with 269.1 cases per 100,000 people followed by Vale of Glamorgan with 255.3 and Carmarthenshire with 242.6.

Hywel Dda Health Board shows 149 cases reported today with 67 in Carmarthenshire, 45 in Pembrokeshire and 37 in Ceredigion. As of March 3 out of 433 patients in acute hospitals with Covid there were only 75 people actively being treated for Covid in Wales.
