Another day, another report from PHW...Life appears to be rebooting and getting a shade nearer normal...


There have been 1,548 new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW bringing the total cases to 824,485. There were 2 coronavirus deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths has risen to 7,041The latest infection rate based on PCR tests for the seven days up to March 5 is now 194 cases for every 100,000 people, a rise from the 184.9 cases recorded on Wednesday. The local authority with the highest infection rate for the seven days up to March 5 was Blaenau Gwent with 290.6 cases per 100,000 people followed by Vale of Glamorgan with 277 and Carmarthenshire with 242.6.

Hywel Dda Health Board shows 225 cases reported today with 120 in Carmarthenshire,67 in Pembrokeshire and 38 in Ceredigion. As of March 9, there were 399 patients in acute hospitals with Covid of whom 80 were being treated for Covid in Wales.
