Infection rate dropped again...but new cases and deaths reported today have risen...be careful out there...!!!

There have been 1,124 new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW bringing the total cases to 804,484. There were 8 coronavirus deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths rises to 6,931. The latest infection rate based on PCR tests for the seven days up to February 11 now stands at 309.2 cases for every 100,000 people down from the 326.8 cases recorded on Tuesday. The local authority with the highest infection rate for the seven days up to February 11 was Ceredigion with 485.6 followed by Carmarthenshire with 419.6 and Cardiff with 373.4.

Hywel Dda Health Board shows 134 cases reported today with 70 in Carmarthenshire, 47 in Pembrokeshire and 17 in Ceredigion. In Wales from February 11, there were 94 people in hospital actively being treated for Covid out of 341 patients in acute hospitals with Covid.
