There have been 1,899 new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW bringing the total cases to 798,821. There were 18 coronavirus deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths has risen to 6,912The latest infection rate based on PCR tests, for the seven days up to February 6, now stands at 400.3 cases for every 100,000 people a reduction from the 412.9 recorded on Thursday. The local authority with the highest infection rate for the seven days between January 31 and February 6 was Carmarthenshire with 563.1 cases per 100,000, followed by Cardiff with 478.9 and Newport with 455.8.

Hywel Dda Health Board shows 292 cases reported today with 149 in Carmarthenshire, 77 in Pembrokeshire and 66 in Ceredigion. As of February 10 there were 1,080 people in general and acute hospital beds with coronavirus a fall on the 1,101 on February 9.
