Sunday is a day of rest...Covid appears not to following the rules...cases showing a rise again today...

There have been 8,923 new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW bringing the total cases up to 715,796. There were 8 coronavirus deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths has risen to 6,634The latest seven-day infection rate across Wales, based on the seven days up to January 3 is 2,214.6 a slight drop on 2,324.6 recorded on Friday. The highest rate in a local authority for the seven days between December 28 and January 3 was Blaenau Gwent with 3,003.7 per 100,000, followed by Rhondda Cynon Taf with 2,779.1, and Merthyr Tydfil with 2,731.8.

Hywel Dda Health Board shows 921 cases reported today with 526 in Carmarthenshire, 300 in Pembrokeshire and 95 in Ceredigion. As of January 6 there were 955 people in general and acute hospital beds with coronavirus (confirmed, suspected, and recovering), a rise on the 920 reported on January 5.
