There have been 2,133 new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW bringing the total cases to 740,742. There were coronavirus deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths has risen to 6,689The latest infection rate, based on the seven days up to January 10 is 1,109.1 cases for every 100,000 people which is down on the 1,274.2 recorded on Friday. For more information on the Covid figures released on Sunday go to Wales Online...

The local authority with the highest infection rate for the seven days between January 4 and January 10 was Neath Port Talbot with 1,331.3 cases per 100,000 followed by Wrexham with 1,276.9 and Blaenau Gwent with 1206.7.

Hywel Dda Health Board shows 218 cases reported today with 111 in Carmarthenshire, 72 in Pembrokeshire and 35 in Ceredigion. As of January 13 there were 1,158 people in general and acute hospital beds with coronavirus (confirmed, suspected, and recovering), a drop on the 1,189 on January 12.
