Cases are down and Welsh Government are relaxing the guidelines...might there be a normality hidden in there somewhere...?


There have been 2,864 new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW bringing the total cases up to 738,609. There were 4 coronavirus deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths has risen to 6,683The PHW latest infection rate, based on the seven days up to January 9 is 1,274.2 cases for every 100,000 people, which is down on the 1,492.4 recorded on Thursday.  For more information on the Covid figures released on Thursday go to Wales Online...


The highest infection rate in the local authorities for the seven days between January 3 and January 9 was Neath Port Talbot with 1,579.7 per 100,000 followed by Blaenau Gwent with 1,445.7 and Swansea with 1,420.3.

Hywel Dda Health Board shows 319 cases reported today with 157 in Carmarthenshire, 114 in Pembrokeshire and 48 in Ceredigion. As of January 13 there were 1,127 people in general and acute hospital beds with coronavirus (confirmed, suspected, and recovering), a drop on the 1,159 on January 12.
