There have been 6,796 new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW bringing the total cases to 559,959. There were 8 coronavirus deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths has risen to 6,516. The area with the highest infection rate is Anglesey with 778.1 cases per 100,000 people followed by Flintshire with 629.7 and Denbighshire with 614.4 cases per 100,000 people. Hywel Dda Health Board has today reported 660 cases. Numbers show 286 in Carmarthenshire, 268 in Pembrokeshire and 106 in Ceredigion. As of December 17, there were 447 people in general and acute hospital beds with coronavirus (confirmed, suspected, and recovering), a fall on the 463 reported on December 16.
