Last Sunday before Christmas and the outlook is bleak...Follow the guidelines and get through it safely...


There have been 3,462 new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW bringing the total cases to 553,163. There were coronavirus deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths rises to 6,508. The infection rate in Wales now stands at 503.4 per 100,000 people a slight rise on the 501.3 reported on Friday.  For more information on the Covid figures released on Sunday go to Wales Online...

The area with the highest infection rate is Anglesey with 671.0 cases per 100,000 people followed by Wrexham with 581.8 and Flintshire with 570.8 per 100,000 people. Hywel Dda Health Board shows 268 cases reported today with 139 in Carmarthenshire, 81 in Pembrokeshire and 48 in Ceredigion.  As of December 16, there were 463 people in general and acute hospital beds with coronavirus (confirmed, suspected, and recovering), a fall on the 476 reported on December 15.
