Middle of the week and the deaths have risen...more restrictions before Christmas...?

There have been 2,313 new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW bringing the total cases to 527,538. There were 11 coronavirus deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths has risen to 6,452. The infection rate in Wales now stands at 498.9 per 100,000 people a rise on the 493 reported on Tuesday.  For more information on the Covid figures released on Wednesday go to Wales Online...

The area with the highest infection rate is Gwynedd with 859.8 cases per 100,000 people followed by Anglesey with 819.5 and Bridgend with 615.4 per 100,000 people. Hywel Dda Health Board shows 185 cases reported today with 61 in Carmarthenshire, 86 in Pembrokeshire and 38 in Ceredigion.

As of December 7, there were 502 people in general and acute hospital beds with coronavirus (confirmed, suspected, and recovering), a fall on the 542 reported on December 6.
