There
have been 2,302 new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW
bringing the total cases to 529,840. There were 15 coronavirus
deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths has now risen to 6,467. Today the infection rate in Wales is standing at 507.1 per 100,000 people a
rise on the 498.9 reported on Wednesday. For more

The
area with the highest infection rate is Gwynedd with 872.7 cases
per 100,000 people followed by Anglesey with 839.5 and Bridgend
with 620.2
per 100,000 people. Hywel Dda Health Board shows 292 cases
reported today with 137 in Carmarthenshire, 117 in
Pembrokeshire and 38 in Ceredigion.
As of December 8, there were 482 people in general and acute
hospital beds with coronavirus (confirmed, suspected, and recovering), a fall
on the 502 reported on December 7.
