Christmas is looming...News today that a significant wave of Omicron is expected to hit Wales with a peak expected by the end of January...


There have been 2,107 new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW bringing the total cases to 525,225. There were coronavirus deaths reported by PHW means the total number of deaths is now 6,441.  Wales' infection rate is now listed as 493 per 100,000 people a rise on the 484.2 reported on Monday.  For more information on the Covid figures released on Tuesday go to Wales Online...


The area with the highest infection rate is Gwynedd with 849.4 cases per 100,000 people followed by Anglesey with 728.1 and Pembrokeshire with 600 per 100,000 people. Hywel Dda Health Board shows 202 cases reported today with 100 in Carmarthenshire, 67 in Pembrokeshire and 35 in Ceredigion.

As of December 6, there were 542 people in general and acute hospital beds with coronavirus (confirmed, suspected, and recovering), a fall on the 562 reported on December 3.
