End of another week...restrictions re-introduced from 27th December...Is it going to be a Happy New Year...?

 

There have been 3,129 new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW bringing the total cases to 549,702. There were coronavirus deaths reported by PHW today so the total number of deaths rises to 6,504. The infection rate in Wales today is reported as 501.3 per 100,000 people a slight rise on the 500.7 reported on Thursday.  For more information on the Covid figures released on Friday go to Wales Online...

The area with the highest infection rate is Anglesey with 692.4 cases per 100,000 people followed by Wrexham with 601.7 and Denbighshire with 583.1 per 100,000 people. Hywel Dda Health Board shows 368 cases reported today with 165 in Carmarthenshire, 152 in Pembrokeshire and 51 in Ceredigion.  As of December 16, there were 463 people in general and acute hospital beds with coronavirus (confirmed, suspected, and recovering), a fall on the 476 reported on December 15.
