Covid-19 vaccine update:

Today’s numbers of new Covid cases in the Local Authorities of Wales…

Today’s numbers of new Covid cases in the local areas of Llanelli…

Clearly nothing has changed and there is every possibility that life is not going to get any better and many people will not take the threat of a surge due to the Omicron variant seriously thus creating more misery for families all over Wales and the rest of the UK.

I wrote this piece 12 months ago to the day and we are still lost in the woods without a proper guide...

It is now less than 2 weeks until Christmas and when the latest statistics are released please remember the number of deaths reported will be people’s beloved family members and friends. Every single person that has sadly passed away from this dreadful virus in those statistics had loved ones, a life lost. Each number is a lost father, mother, grandparent, sister, brother, son, daughter, friend, person.

Everyone lost would have had an important role in someone’s life. All were inspirational to their families and stories about these wonderful people are really too many to tot up, but the pain felt by loved ones is unmistakable.

Looking at the figures in Wales there is no respite from this deadly virus, the Welsh Government can promote the most extensive of guidelines and close all the businesses but if the population is not going to take heed of the advice we will never experience a normal everyday life that I and many thousands of the older generations have had since birth.

It is up to everyone to play their part to bring about the end to this pandemic surrounding our shores.
