Another gloomy day of raised numbers...Travel restrictions apply from 4:00am Tuesday... The Omicron variant is spreading...


There have been 2,567 new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW bringing the total cases to 518,713. There were coronavirus deaths reported by Public Health Wales so the total number of deaths now stands at 6,433. The infection rate in Wales today is 471.9 per 100,000 people a small rise on the 469.9 reported on Friday.  For more information on the Covid figures released on Sunday go to Wales Online...

The area with the highest infection rate is Gwynedd with 886.3 cases per 100,000 people followed by Anglesey with 643.9 and the Vale of Glamorgan with 636.3 cases per 100,000 people. Hywel Dda Health Board shows 287 cases reported today with 122 in Carmarthenshire, 141 in Pembrokeshire and 24 in Ceredigion.

As of December 2 there were 563 people in general and acute hospital beds with coronavirus (confirmed, suspected, and recovering), a rise on the 555 reported on December 1.
