Question of the day is whether the new variant will hit Wales before Christmas...

There have been 1,963 new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW bringing the total cases to 502,991. There were coronavirus deaths reported today by PHW shows the total number of deaths to date now rises to 6,391. The infection rate in Wales now stands at 491.4 per 100,000 people a drop on the 494.4 reported on Friday.  For more information on the Covid figures released on Monday go to Wales Online...

The area with the highest infection rate is still Gwynedd with 882.3 cases per 100,000 people followed by Vale of Glamorgan with 652.8 and Anglesey with 579.6 cases per 100,000 people. Hywel Dda Health Board shows 179 cases reported today with 84 in Carmarthenshire, 81 in Pembrokeshire and 14 in Ceredigion.

As of November 25 there were 589 people in general and acute hospital beds with coronavirus (confirmed, suspected, and recovering), a rise on the 587 reported on November 24.
