Little respite in the number of daily cases...Deaths has risen today...with Christmas coming the outlook is bleak...

 

Thursday Numbers Report...

There have been 2,799 new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW bringing the total cases to 447,655. There were 17 coronavirus deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths has risen to 6,201. The infection rate in Wales now stands at 550.6 per 100,000 people a slight rise on the 546.2 reported on Wednesday.  For more information on the Covid figures released on Monday go to Wales Online...

The area with the highest infection rate is the Vale of Glamorgan with 777 cases per 100,000 people followed by Torfaen with 752.4 and Caerphilly with 724.6 cases per 100,000 people. Hywel Dda Health Board shows 308 cases reported today with 141 in Carmarthenshire, 123 in Pembrokeshire and 44 in Ceredigion.
