48 hours of data reported today...numbers are still rising in many areas of Wales...


There have been 4,489 new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW bringing the total cases to 491,640. There were 8 coronavirus deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths has risen to 6,357. The infection rate in Wales now stands at 521 per 100,000 people a rise on the 521.2 reported on Sunday.  For more information on the Covid figures released on Monday go to Wales Online...


The area with the highest infection rate is the Gwynedd with 868.7 cases per 100,000 people followed by Vale of Glamorgan with 695.4 and Monmouthshire with 597.3 cases per 100,000 people. Hywel Dda Health Board shows 556 cases reported today with 282 in Carmarthenshire, 219 in Pembrokeshire and 55 in Ceredigion.

As of November 19 there were 653 people in general and acute hospital beds with coronavirus (confirmed, suspected, and recovering), a fall on the 722 reported on November 18.

The rules on mask-wearing on buses, trains and while travelling in taxis is not changing you will still need to wear a face covering and face coverings will remain a requirement in most indoor places.
