Large number of cases and 20 deaths reported today... 815 new cases reported in Cardiff...I would say close the Brynglas Tunnel...

 

There have been 6,398 new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW bringing the total cases to 401,644. There were 20 coronavirus deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths has risen to 6,035. The infection rate in Wales now stands at 560.4 per 100,000 people a sharp rise on the 529.3 reported on Sunday.  For more information on the Covid figures released on Thursday go to Wales Online... 

The area with the highest infection rate is Torfaen with 793.9 cases per 100,000 people followed by Cardiff with 772.4 and Pembrokeshire with 746.3 cases per 100,000 people. Hywel Dda Health Board shows 735 cases reported today with 317 in Carmarthenshire, 334 in Pembrokeshire and 84 in Ceredigion.


Covid-19 vaccine update: 2,416,793 people in Wales have now had their first dose of the vaccine. 2,235,723 people in Wales are now fully vaccinated. 12-15 year olds are now eligible for one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, you’ll be contacted by your health board.
