Infection rate dropping...But still high case numbers in some areas...

 


There have been 2007 new cases of coronavirus reported by PHW bringing the total cases to 368,629. There were coronavirus deaths reported today by PHW so the total number of deaths has risen to 5,934. The infection rate in Wales is now 507.3 per 100,000 people a drop on the 530.5 reported on Tuesday.  For more information on the Covid figures released today go to WalesOnline...

The area with the highest infection rate is Torfaen with 688.6 cases per 100,000 people followed by Denbighshire with 632.2 and Vale of Glamorgan with 630.3 cases per 100,000 people. Hywel Dda Health Board shows 274 cases reported today with 160 in Carmarthenshire, 86 in Pembrokeshire and 28 in Ceredigion.

Covid-19 vaccine update: 2,385,622 people in Wales have now had their first dose of the vaccine. 2,226,708 people in Wales are now fully vaccinated. 12-15 year olds are now eligible for one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, you’ll be contacted by your health board.
