Covid vaccine and test passes to be introduced in Wales from October 11...

 

2618 new cases of coronavirus have been reported by PHW bringing the total cases to 320,099. There were 8 coronavirus deaths reported today by PHW which takes total number of deaths  to 5,782The infection rate in Wales is now 487.6 per 100,000 people down from 494.3 on Thursday.  For more information on the Covid figures released today go to Wales Online...


The area with the highest infection rate in Wales is Neath Port Talbot with 730.6 followed by Carmarthenshire with 678.1 and Merthyr Tydfil with 669.7 cases per 100,000. Hywel Dda HB shows 301 cases reported today, 200 in Carmarthenshire, 63 in Pembrokeshire and 38 in Ceredigion.

Covid-19 vaccine update: 2,371,337 people in Wales have now had their first dose of the vaccine. 2,206,377 people in Wales are now fully vaccinated.

People in Wales will need to show a pass proving they have been fully vaccinated or had a negative Covid test to attend clubs and large-scale events.

 

The pass will be needed for clubs, indoor no-seating events with more than 500 people and outdoor no-seating events with more than 4,000 people. It will also be required for any event with more than 10,000 people. 


The new rules begin on 11 October...
