2891 new cases of coronavirus have been reported by PHW bringing the total cases to 317,481. There were 4 coronavirus deaths reported today by PHW so the total number of deaths has risen to 5,774. The infection rate in Wales is now 494.3 per 100,000 people down from 500.1 on Wednesday.  For more information on the Covid figures released today go to Wales Online...

The area with the highest infection rate in Wales is Neath Port Talbot with 711 cases per 100,000 followed by Carmarthenshire with 706.1 and Merthyr Tydfil with 692.9 cases per 100,000. Hywel Dda Health Board shows 258 new cases reported today, 156 in Carmarthenshire, 59 in Pembrokeshire and 43 in Ceredigion.
