5258 new cases of
coronavirus have been reported by PHW bringing the total cases to 328,074. There
were 17 coronavirus deaths reported
today by PHW so the total number of deaths has risen to 5,814. The
infection rate in Wales is now 514.0 per 100,000 people

The area with the highest infection rate in Wales is Neath Port Talbot with 808.7 cases per 100,000 followed by Merthyr Tydfil with 694.6 and Caerphilly with 668.2 cases per 100,000. Hywel Dda Health Board shows 640 new cases reported today, 382 in Carmarthenshire, 157 in Pembrokeshire and 101 in Ceredigion. These numbers reflect 48 hours of data.

month ago on 20th August a number of roads in the Llanelli North area of
Llanelli that includes roads in Lliedi Ward had their speed limit changed to
20mph. The change was introduced as part of the Welsh Government plans to
reduce the national default speed limit in Wales from 30mph to 20mph on
residential roads and busy pedestrian streets. Signs were erected in the
designated roads and although small are visible enough to the considerate
motorist that uses these roads. Sadly a number of drivers using these roads are
totally ignoring the change of speed limit so I wanted to make you aware of
what the signs look like so in future you will be aware that 20mph means 20mph…
