Wales is opening the doors to the masses...

 

Public Health Wales (PHW) reports 861 more positive cases to bring the total cases number to 228,424. There were no reported deaths by the NHS trusts which mean the overall total remains at 5,581.

Wales' infection rate now stands at 150.4 cases per 100,000 people up from 145.3 on Tuesday. 15 of Wales' 22 local authorities are now reporting more than 100 positive cases per 100,000 people.

The area with the highest infection rate in Wales remains Wrexham with 318.5 cases per 100,000 people. This is followed by Denbighshire with 250.8 and Flintshire with 225.5.

Betsi Cadwaladr UHB had the most with 45, followed by Aneurin Bevan UHB with 33, Cardiff and Vale UHB with 28, Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB with 24, Hywel Dda UHB with 8 and Swansea Bay UHB with 3.

Covid-19 vaccine update: 2,278,204 people in Wales have now had their first dose of the vaccine. 1,876,709 people are now fully vaccinated.
