Today’s update from Public Health Wales (PHW) reported 1,083 more positive cases to bring the total to 229,507. 2 further deaths reported by the NHS trust means the total number of deaths is now 5,583. Wales' infection rate now stands at 156.3 cases per 100,000 people a rise from 150.4 on Thursday.

Seventeen of Wales' 22 local authorities are now reporting more than 100 positive cases per 100,000 people. The area with the highest infection rate in Wales remains Wrexham with 303.8 cases per 100,000 people a fall when compared to Thursday's figure of 318.5. This is followed by Denbighshire with 275.9 and Conwy with 226.1.

 

The Health Boards reported the following numbers; Betsi Cadwaladr UHB had the most with 43, followed by Cardiff and Vale UHB with 28, Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB with 26, Aneurin Bevan UHB with 20, Hywel Dda UHB with 8 and Swansea Bay UHB with 3.


Covid-19 vaccine update: 2,279,139 people in Wales have now had their first dose of the vaccine. 1,892,082 people are now fully vaccinated.
