The heatwave is ending... but the virus is not giving up...

A further 755 new cases of coronavirus have been reported by PHW bringing the total cases to 235,635. There was new coronavirus death reported by PHW so the total number of deaths changes to 5,595.

The infection rate in Wales is now 186.1 per 100,000 people down from 189.4 the day before. It has not been this high since late January. All of Wales' 22 local authorities are now reporting more than 100 positive cases per 100,000 people, apart from Carmarthenshire and Anglesey.


The area with the highest infection rate in Wales is now Denbighshire with 506.2 cases per 100,000, followed by Conwy with 357.5 cases per 100,000.

 

Covid-19 vaccine update: 2,286,154 people in Wales have now had their first dose of the vaccine. 1,973,196 people are now fully vaccinated.
