No let up yet... The cases are still going up and up...

A further 1,238 new cases of coronavirus have been reported by PHW bringing the total cases to 236,873. There were no new coronavirus deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths stays at 5,595.

The infection rate in Wales is now 185.2 per 100,000 people down from 186.1 the day before. It has not been this high since late January. All of Wales' 22 local authorities are now reporting more than 100 positive cases per 100,000 people, with Carmarthenshire and Anglesey and Neath Port Talbot being the exceptions.


The area with the highest infection rate in Wales is now Denbighshire with 535.6 cases per 100,000, followed by Conwy with 362.6 cases per 100,000.

 

Covid-19 vaccine update: 2,288,219 people in Wales have now had their first dose of the vaccine. 1,993,816 people are now fully vaccinated.
