Local case numbers in Llanelli have increased...Still some big numbers from the Authorities in Wales...

A further 704 new cases of coronavirus have been reported by PHW bringing the total cases to 238,707. There were no new coronavirus deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths stays at 5,597.

The infection rate in Wales is now 164.4 per 100,000 people down from 169.6 the day before. It has not been this high since late January. Wales' infection rate has now fallen steadily over the last week from a peak of more than 200 cases for every 100k people in the preceding week.


The majority of Wales' 22 local authorities are now reporting more than 100 positive cases per 100,000 people, with Blaenau Gwent, Carmarthenshire, Gwynedd and Neath Port Talbot the exceptions. The area with the highest infection rate in Wales is now Denbighshire with 455.6 cases per 100,000, followed by Conwy with 325.9 cases per 100,000.


Covid-19 vaccine update: 2,290,213 people in Wales have now had their first dose of the vaccine. 2,013,128 people are now fully vaccinated.
