LIfe goes on irrespective of the case numbers...

Today’s update from Public Health Wales (PHW) recorded 701 more positive cases to bring the total since the pandemic began to 223,149. There were no additional Covid deaths reported, meaning the overall total remains at 5,578. Wales' infection rate has risen to 117 cases per 100,000 people based on the seven days between June 27 and July 3 up on 109.6 on Wednesday. Half of Wales' local authorities are now reporting more than 100 positive cases per 100,000 people.

The area with the highest infection rate in Wales is Wrexham with 280.2 cases per 100,000 people, up from 254.5 cases on Wednesday. This is followed by Flintshire with 224.2 and Denbighshire with 166.2.

 

There are now 119 people across Wales in general and acute hospital beds with confirmed 54, suspected 36 or recovering 29 cases of coronavirus down on the 121 recorded the day before. Betsi Cadwaladr UHB had the most with 38, followed by Cardiff and Vale UHB with 32, Aneurin Bevan UHB with 30, Cwm Taf Morgannwg with 15, Hywel Dda UHB with 3 and Swansea Bay UHB with 1.


Covid-19 vaccine update: 2,269,131 people in Wales have now had their first dose of the vaccine. 1,783,079 people are now fully vaccinated.
