Vaccination target nearly there...keep it going and we all will be protected...we hope!!!

Vaccination in Wales has now reached 85% of the adult population this exercise when completed will hopefully give everyone’s lives a reboot to something like the usual operating mode so that living a life to what we are accustomed to returns. But I am sure that many will never forget 2020 and this year to date and the total absence of caring and empathy caused to families of lost loved ones and the hardship that has blighted many amongst the communities.

Covid-19 vaccine update: 2,152,709 people in Wales have now had their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. 1,138,112 people are now fully vaccinated.

No further deaths reported with coronavirus in Wales, according to Public Health Wales. There have been 83 new cases recorded, taking the total confirmed cases in Wales to 212,879. The total number of deaths remains at 5,569. Wales' case rate for the latest seven-day period remains 8.0 for every 100,000 people. The most new cases 25 were reported by the Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board in North Wales.

The local authority in Wales with the highest case rate is Conwy, with 18.8 confirmed cases per 100,000 people. This is followed by Bridgend 15.6 and Wrexham 13.2. The lowest case rates are on Anglesey 1.4, Merthyr Tydfil 1.7 and Rhondda Cynon Taf 2.1.
