March 23 2020 will never be forgotten, it was the time when the world was thrown into a future of doubt and unfamiliar territory… the world as we know it unsure of what to expect or what was going to take place. After all we have been through it seems contradictory to talk about a third wave when the second is still so firmly on the way out. Cases, hospital admissions and deaths are a fraction of what they were at their peak in January. The long lockdown and the rapid rollout of the vaccine have been highly effective. But the daily stats give false reassurance; there is still a lot of virus out there...
But please remember the ones that helped everyone through this period of misery and loss, the workers that turned up every day and carried out their daily duties as if there was no pandemic surrounding everyone... These are the ones that were there for us, now we need to be there for you and deserve to be fully rewarded with a rise in salary for their extreme efforts...

Eighth day of no deaths with Covid-19 in
Wales reports Public Health Wales. There were 49 new cases recorded on Thursday,
taking the total confirmed cases in Wales to 212,928. The total number of deaths in Wales since the outbreak
began remains at 5,569.
The case rate in Wales is currently 7.5 per 100,000 over seven days. Conwy remains the highest case rate in
Wales on 22.2 cases per 100,000 people. Second highest is
Wrexham with a case rate of 14.7,
followed by Denbighshire with a case rate of 11.5. Caerphilly, Anglesey and Merthyr Tydfil have very low weekly
case rates, each at just over one positive test every 100,000 people.
Covid-19 vaccine update: 2,161,028 people in Wales have now had their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. 1,157,904 people are now fully vaccinated.
