No deaths with coronavirus in Wales over
the past two weeks, reports Public Health Wales. But
there have been a further 223 new
cases of the virus, bringing Wales' total since the beginning of the pandemic
to 213,411. The higher number of new
cases is understood to be a result of a backlog with older infections now being
added to the count. The number of deaths with coronavirus in Wales stands at 5,570. The weekly case rate in Wales is
11.2 infections per 100,000 people,
a slight rise from 10.4.
Conwy has the highest case rate in Wales 30.7 cases per 100,000. Swansea is next on 23.1
cases per 100,000 people over seven
days. The lowest is Ceredigion at just 2.8,
followed by neighbouring authority Powys at 3.
Covid-19 vaccine update: 2,190,460
people in Wales have now had their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. 1,291,699 people are now fully
