Wales continues to see rising cases of coronavirus, with 175 new infections reported by Public Health Wales (PHW) on Tuesday. The total number of cases now stands at 215,380. No further deaths were reported, with the figure remaining at 5,572. The most recent death within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test was on 9 June, according to PHW data.
Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board had the highest number of reported
cases at 72. This included 24 in Flintshire, 18 in Conwy and 12 each
in Gwynedd and Wrexham. Cardiff recorded 22
new cases and there were 9 in
Vale of Glamorgan.
Conwy continues to have the highest case rate at 98.1 per 100,000 people, followed by Denbighshire on 80.5, Flintshire on 73.7
and Wrexham on 47.8. The lowest case
rate was in Merthyr Tydfil at 8.3. The
last recorded death in Wales was on 9 June.
