End of the week...no let up in the numbers...

The Social Care staff and council workers which includes all the hard working, diligent, caring and empathetic staff that looks after the very vulnerable of society and those that kept services running are still being ignored by this government since the lockdown nearly 18 months ago. Currently the continuous call by unions and staff is to increase the poor pay rise offered to NHS staff. Whilst I support the implementation of a substantial pay rise for the NHS let us not forget the salaries of social care staff and council workers are borderline National Living Wage and if anyone deserves support to increase their rate of pay it is the those groups throughout the UK.

Let us all not forget to reward NHS, Social Care and council workers for their immense effort during the last eighteen months and for their ongoing support as it appears numbers are rising related to this Delta variant that is now hitting areas of the whole UK.

Moving forward into a future where this virus appears to remain in everyone’s lives… where would the ill, vulnerable and people of all towns, cities and villages be without their hard work and the NHS commitment to ensuring that everyone wherever possible gets the vaccinations to try and beat this virus… life would be even more despondent for many many people without them all...
