Public Health Wales has reported 513
more people testing positive for coronavirus, but no further deaths with the
virus. The figures show Wales' case rate is now 64.8 per 100,000 people, up from 59
on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the total number of Covid cases reported in Wales
reached 218,245 and total deaths
remained at 5,575.
The highest number of new cases was reported in the Betsi
Cadwaladr Health Board area at 186,
Aneurin Bevan Health Board reported 89
and Cardiff and Vale 70. The local
authority with the highest case rate in Wales is Flintshire with 155.7 cases per 100,000 for the seven-day period leading up to 25 June. It is one
of three areas which now have rates over 100, alongside Wrexham 131.7 and Denbighshire 120.2. The lowest case rates are in
Merthyr Tydfil 22, Newport 24.9 and Powys 29.4.

Foodbank
demand has rocketed by a third in the past 12 months. The record demand
came as family budgets were clobbered by the coronavirus crisis, with
millions of workers furloughed and hundreds of thousands made redundant.
No
one should face the plight of need to use foodbanks, but the reality is that
all areas of the country that have continuously provided food parcels to those
families in dire need. Record numbers of people are struggling without
enough money for the bare essentials.
