77 years have passed...we will remember them...we will also remember the ones lost to this pandemic...

2021 marks the 77th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy. Sadly 22,000 lost their lives on DDay… We will remember them all…

There have been no reported deaths of people with coronavirus in Wales for the last ten days, reports Public Health Wales. There were 92 new positive cases reported, taking the total confirmed cases in Wales to 213,091. The total number of deaths in Wales remains at 5,569. The case rate in Wales has edged up to 8.3 per 100,000 over seven days.

Conwy remains the highest case rate in Wales and has risen to 25.6 cases per 100,000. As a result there have been calls to fast track second vaccine doses in the area amid serious concerns over a cluster of the Delta variant, first identified in India, in Llandudno, Llandudno Junction and Penrhyn Bay. Denbighshire is the second highest with 13.6, alongside Wrexham which has fallen to a case rate of 12.2. Merthyr Tydfil, Anglesey and Blaenau Gwent, all have very low case rates with one confirmed case of Covid in the last seven days.

Figures released on Sunday cover 24 hours up to 09:00 on Friday as data is no longer published on Saturday.

Covid-19 vaccine update: 2,179,830 people in Wales have now had their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. 1,237,123 people are now fully vaccinated.

Today’s numbers of Covid-19 cases in the local areas of Llanelli…

Thought for the Day…

The message is clear...
