Two more people have died with coronavirus in Wales, Public Health Wales has reported. There have been 58 new cases recorded, taking the total confirmed number in Wales to 212,640 while the number of deaths is now 5,569. Wales' overall case rate has slightly risen to 9.2 for every 100,000 people. The two newly reported deaths were in the Aneurin Bevan and Hywel Dda Health Board areas.

The new cases include in both Cardiff and Gwynedd, 5 each in Bridgend, Pembrokeshire and Rhondda Cynon Taf, and each in Monmouthshire, Swansea, Carmarthenshire and Conwy. No new cases were reported in five local authority areas; Anglesey, Denbighshire, Ceredigion, Merthyr Tydfil and the Vale of Glamorgan. Bridgend has the highest case rate in Wales at 24.5, followed by Monmouthshire 21.1, Newport 14.2, Neath Port Talbot 11.9 and Caerphilly 11.6. Powys has the lowest case rate at 1.5.

Covid-19 vaccine update: 2,120,049 people in Wales have now had their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. 1,058,464 people are now fully vaccinated.
