One further person has died with
coronavirus in Wales, Public Health Wales has reported. There have been 28
new cases recorded, taking the total confirmed number in Wales to 212,582 while the number of deaths is
now 5,567. Wales' overall case rate
stands at 8.9 cases for every 100,000 people.
The local authority with the highest rolling case rate for the past seven days is Monmouthshire with 20.1 per 100,000 people, followed by Bridgend with 18.4 and Newport with 15.5. The lowest infection rates are in Powys 2.3, Gwynedd with 2.4 and Denbighshire with 3.1.

If you live in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion or Pembrokeshire and meet one of the following criteria, you can now register to request your first COVID vaccine:
- Aged 21 or
over.
- Aged 16 to
64 and have underlying health conditions that put you at increased risk of
COVID-19 mortality.
- Work in a
care home or in health and social care in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion or
Pembrokeshire.
- Are the
primary unpaid carer of an elderly or disabled adult who is at increased
risk of COVID-19 mortality, or a child with severe neuro-disabilities.
We are also
prioritising household contacts of adults who are immunosuppressed i.e. having a weakened immune system. People who are immunosuppressed have
a reduced ability to fight infections and other diseases. This may be caused by
certain diseases or conditions, such as AIDS, cancer, diabetes, malnutrition,
and certain genetic disorders. for vaccination. If you are aged 16 or over
and a household contact of a severely immunosuppressed adult,
please complete the self-referral form on the NHS website.
