The outlook is looking good...Cross everything it continues...

Coronavirus case rates in Wales have continued to fall, with no deaths recorded on Wednesday, according to Public Health Wales. The seven-day rate of infection now stands at 10 for every 100,000 people in Wales. It means the total number of deaths reported by PHW is at 5,551. A further 54 positive cases have been reported, bringing the total to 211,692. No deaths have occurred on 11 days since 1 April. There are 92% of communities in Wales which have had two or fewer cases in the last week.

During the latest week, up to 16 April there were seven deaths in the Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board area, two in Cardiff and Vale Health Board area both in the Vale of Glamorgan and two in Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board area. There was one death in Aneurin Bevan Health Board area, Swansea Bay Health Board area and also in Powys Health Board area, the only Covid death in Wales involving a care home resident this week.

 

When broken down by local authority area, there were no deaths involving Covid registered in 12 counties: Anglesey, Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Flintshire, Monmouthshire, Neath Port Talbot, Pembrokeshire and Torfaen.

 

The number of individuals given a first dose of a Covid vaccine now stands at 1,873,152 and 783,120 has received the full two-dose course.
