Bank holiday over...Let us get back to normal...

Wales has recorded another Covid-19 death, according to Public Health Wales. It means the total number of deaths reported by PHW has risen to 5,551. A further 65 positive cases have been reported, bringing the total to 211,638. The death occurred on 26 April in the Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board area but it has only just been reported. PHW said Tuesday's reported data relates to the 48-hour period before 09:00 BST on Sunday. The rolling daily average for deaths is now 0.6 and no deaths have occurred on 10 days since 1 April. There are 92% of communities in Wales which have had two or fewer cases in the last week, PHW figures show.

The seven-day rolling case rate stands at 10.5 per 100,000 people, which is the lowest since 31 August. A total of 1,864,400 people (59.1% of the population) have had a first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine and 772,527 people (24.5%) have had both doses of a vaccine and are fully vaccinated.

Today’s numbers of Covid-19 cases in the local areas of Llanelli…

Thought for the Day…

Fly Tipping and the public perception of recycling guidelines...

This problem is not only happening in some areas it is a regular occurrence all over Llanelli and surrounding areas. Black/Blue bags, boxes of empty bottles dumped alongside the bottle banks and a host of other waste material left by the lazy inconsiderate people that think that councillors and council staff are there to report and clean up for them. The plan for kerbside glass collection will not correct the issue and refocus the culprits it will mean that lanes, hedgerows, isolated country paths will see an increase in mess being left by those not willing to buy in to the recycling guidelines. Add to that the dog mess that some owners are not even trying to clean up and the whole array of communities of Llanelli will end up like a GREAT BIG Landfill site... Some areas resemble it already... Education is a brilliant commodity but for those not willing to learn it will be a hard lesson and only hitting those in their pockets will perhaps stem the tide of discarded waste.
