There has been one more death with
Covid-19 reported, reports Public Health Wales. The
total number of deaths reported by PHW now stands at 5,560. A further 91 people have tested positive for
the virus, which includes tests recorded for both Saturday and Sunday. Wales'
infection rate has risen slightly to 10.2 cases per 100,000 people. The
newly-reported death was recorded in the Hywel Dda Health Board area.
Of the new cases, 12 were reported in Cardiff and 11 in Newport, with 10 in the Swansea council area. Newport's case rate has risen again, to 34.9 people for every 100,000 for the last seven-day period, up from 27.8 infections. Cardiff has also seen a rise, up just over five cases per 100,000 recording a further 84 individual cases over the past seven-day period, the highest in Wales. The lowest rate is Anglesey, at 1.4 per 100,000 recording no cases over the weekend.
Figures show that 2,027,803 people in Wales have now had their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. 917,431 people are now fully vaccinated.
