Like a see-saw the number of cases are up and down...

One further person has died with Covid in Wales, reports Public Health Wales (PHW). The total overall is now 5,561 who have died with the virus in Wales. The latest death was reported by Hywel Dda Health Board, which covers Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. Currently the weekly infection rate in Wales stands at just under 9.4 cases for every 100,000 people

PHW also reported 45 new positive cases, bringing the total to 212,361. The local authority areas with the highest seven-day case rates were Newport 29.7, Cardiff 17.70 and Wrexham 12.5. Anglesey and Rhondda Cynon Taf had the lowest with 2.9 followed by Denbighshire with 3.1.


Over 3 million doses of the vaccine have been delivered in Wales to date and 2,058,106 people in Wales have now had their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. 952,468 people are now fully vaccinated.
