A reasonable day for the statistics...Let it continue on its upward trend...

 

The latest Covid-19 figures show there has only been one death reported in Wales in the past week, according to Public Health Wales. There were no new deaths recorded on Wednesday, while the number of positive tests stayed relatively stable, at 44 new cases. Overall, 5,560 people have died with the virus in Wales. The current weekly infection rate in Wales now stands at just under 10 cases for every 100,000 people in Wales. The total number of people who have tested positive for Covid-19 in Wales now stands at 212,316.

The highest rate remains in Newport, which has stayed at 29.7 cases per 100,000 for a second day. The rate in Cardiff dipped again, dropping to 18 cases per 100,000. Of the new cases, 6 were reported in Cardiff and 5 in Newport. However, the case rate in both areas has fallen, dipping to 29.7 per 100,000 in Newport, and down to 18.8 cases per 100,000 for Cardiff.

 

The numbers who have had their first Covid vaccination stands at 2,046,011. That is 64.9% of the Welsh population. Almost 30% of people in Wales 939,072 people have had both vaccines doses.
