Two more people have died with Covid-19 in Wales and there have
been 105 new coronavirus cases, reports Public Health Wales
(PHW). Wales' Covid case rate is now at 17.4 cases per 100,000 people
the lowest rate for seven months and six Welsh counties recorded no new Covid
cases. In Wales, 5,535 people have died with Covid. PHW said
one of the deaths was in the Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board area in North Wales
while the other was in the Swansea Bay Health Board area.
Of the 105
new coronavirus cases reported on Thursday, 17 were reported in Swansea, 14
in Newport and 12 in Rhondda Cynon
Taf. Six local authority areas Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire,
Anglesey, Bridgend and Merthyr Tydfil reported no new cases.
More than 1.6
million people have had their first Covid vaccine while almost 560,000 people have had both doses.
