Saturday and Sunday numbers...Cases have risen and still some deaths causing families to grieve...

Today's report includes Saturday's numbers as PHW has stopped reporting on Saturday.


There have been three further Covid-related deaths reported in Wales. A total of 5,538 people have died with coronavirus Public Health Wales (PHW) has said. Wales' seven-day case rate has risen slightly to 17.9 cases per 100,000 people. Another 94 positive tests have been reported since Friday as no data was published on Saturday.

 

25 of the cases were in Cardiff with 11 in Swansea and 8 in both Torfaen and Gwynedd. The deaths were in the Powys Health Board area, Aneurin Bevan Health Board area which covers the old Gwent region and Caerphilly County and Cwm Taf Health Board area which covers Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf.

More than 1.65 million people have now had their first Covid vaccine, 52.6% of the Welsh population, while 601,000 people 19.1% have had both doses.
