One year on...Day of Reflection...Life is still not in normal mode...

A Day of Reflection...

On 23rd March 2020 the Prime Minister told people they must stay at home. Normal life as we know it ceased on that date. This life changing pandemic managed by some of the most inept politicians that have ever been elected to government has still not learned from any mistakes or u turns that have been part of their handling of this terrible disease that has cost so many innocent lives. Actually 126,000 deaths to date.

The NHS and Social Care has been overwhelmed with trying to save lives in the hospitals and care homes nationwide, little thought by the idiots running the show from Westminster of trying to minimise deaths and attending to the redundancies, deprivation, hunger and homeless but ensuring that their response to the pandemic was little more than a interruption to their manifesto written to ensure that looking after the well off and affluent sector of society, the less well off were left to rely on goodwill, food banks and families to survive.

There have been no new deaths with coronavirus reported to Public Health Wales for a second day in a row. It means the total number reported to the health body since the pandemic began remains at 5,488. A further 127 cases have been reported in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of positive tests to 208,119. The seven-day coronavirus case rate in Wales once again remains at 42 cases per 100,000 people.

Only three local authorities had cases in double figures on Tuesday - Merthyr Tydfil on 15, Flintshire on 13 and Neath Port Talbot on 12. Merthyr is also the local authority with the highest case rates for the seven-day period up until 18 March, at 111.1 cases per 100,000, although it has fallen from 121 the previous day. This is again followed by Anglesey, which remains on 107.1 cases per 100,000 people and then Flintshire on 75.6. The lowest case rates are seen in Ceredigion remaining on 11, Monmouthshire down from 15.9 to 13.7 and Powys 15.1.

The number of people who have received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine now stands at 1,288,250 a rise of 15,064 on the previous day. Of that total, 353,347 people have now had a second dose, up by 7,289.

Today’s numbers of Covid-19 cases in the local areas of Llanelli…

Thought for the Day...
