No hat trick of days free of deaths...The numbers are low but loved ones lost nevertheless...

Three more people have died with coronavirus in Wales, reports Public Health Wales. It brings the total number of deaths reported to the health body since the pandemic began, to 5,4912 of the latest deaths were reported by Cardiff and Vale Health Board area and 1 by Hywel Dda Health Board area, which covers West and part of Mid-Wales. A further 159 cases have been reported in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of positive tests to 208,277. The seven-day coronavirus case rate in Wales has fallen to 41 cases per 100,000 people, down from 42 on Tuesday.

Merthyr Tydfil remains the local authority area with the highest seven-day case rate, with 112.7 per 100,000 of the population testing positive in the past seven days. That was followed by Anglesey with 101.4 and Flintshire with 71.7. The case rate in Merthyr Tydfil has started to fall compared to where it was last week. The area was the 23rd highest in the UK on Tuesday but it is still a long way from the levels seen in previous months, with its peak of 1,349 cases per 100,000 a week before Christmas. Most of this was in the Gellideg and Merthyr Town area, which remains the county's local hotpot with 21 cases in the past week.

Anglesey is the one Welsh county which has never risen above 200 cases per 100,000. But at the end of last week, it rose above 120. More than half of cases were in Holyhead, where there have been 39 cases in the last week and it is the second highest localised hotspot in Wales. Flintshire has been hovering between 70 and 100 cases per 100,000 over the last month, with local hotspots around Flint. There are now only five hotspots in Wales above 200 cases per 100,000, with the highest in Mynydd-bach in Swansea, which has seen 34 cases over the last week. The area with the lowest case rate was Ceredigion 11, followed by Monmouthshire 13.7 and Powys 15.9.

The number of people who have received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine now stands at 1,302,974, a rise of 74,724 on the previous day. 366,803 people have now had a second dose, up by 13,456.
