There have been no further deaths with Covid in the last 24 hours
reports Public Health Wales. It means the total number of deaths reported to the health
body now remains at 5,506. A further 94 cases have
been reported, taking the total number of positive tests to 209,285.
The seven-day rolling case rate per 100,000 has dropped
slightly to 37.6, compared to 38.1 previously reported.
Merthyr Tydfil still has the highest case rate although it has risen to 132.6 from 127.6 cases per 100,000 people, followed by Anglesey, down to 112.8 from 114.2 and then Swansea which remains at 65.2. The three areas with the lowest rates are Ceredigion on 6.9, Bridgend on 17 and Powys on 18.1.
Public Health Wales (PHW) said a further 12,960 people have now
received a first vaccination and the total now stands at 1,413,710. Another 7,016 people received a second vaccination, taking the total number
of people who are now fully vaccinated to 424,016.

Just because you’ve had
the vaccine, it is not known whether it will stop someone catching
and passing on the virus, but it is expected to reduce this risk. So, it is
still important to take care, wear a mask and social distance to protect
others.
