12 more people have died with coronavirus in Wales, reports Public Health
Wales (PHW). It takes the total number of deaths reported by PHW to 5,436 since
the start of the pandemic. 9 deaths were in the Cwm Taf
Morgannwg Health Board area. Betsi Cadwaladr, Hywel Dda and Aneurin Bevan
Health Board areas all reported a single death. Meanwhile, a further 190 new
cases have been reported, while Wales' overall case rate has dropped to 41 cases
per 100,000 people.
Wales' overall case rate continued to fall, dropping from 42.4 to 41.1. 16 of Wales' 22 local authority areas reported drops in the number of new infections per 100,000 people over the most recent seven-day period with stable data. Merthyr Tydfil has the highest case rate in the country, rising from 94.5 cases per 100,000 to 104.4 on Friday.
Anglesey now has the second highest rate in Wales,
rising from 68.5 to 77.1. Carmarthenshire, Neath Port
Talbot, Powys and Vale of Glamorgan all saw their case rates raise modestly. Ceredigion
9.6 continues to have the lowest
case rate in Wales, followed by Pembrokeshire 12.7, Monmouthshire 20.1
and Torfaen 22.3.
An additional 38,101 vaccines doses had also been
administered since the last PHW update.

- Stay at home becomes stay local.
- Four people from two different households can meet up outdoors to socialise, including in gardens - children are excluded from the number. The rules would allow people to walk through a house to access the garden, but people should not go inside the house to use the toilet.
- Outdoor sports facilities such as golf, tennis and basketball will be able to reopen.
- Designated solo visitors can enter care homes.
- All primary school children and those in qualifications years can return to class.
- Schools will have flexibility to bring back year 10 and 12 pupils and more students will return to colleges.
- Hairdressers and barbers can reopen - for appointments only.
- Gradual easing of non-essential shopping and non-essential aisles in supermarkets.
- Garden centres to reopen.
- Self-contained accommodation in Wales will be able to reopen provided case rates remain low.
