6 more people have died with coronavirus in Wales, reports Public
Health Wales (PHW). It takes the total number of deaths reported by PHW to 5,442.
A further 210 new cases have been reported, taking the total
of positive cases to 206,188. 2 of the deaths were in the Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board
area in North Wales, while 2 more deaths were reported in the
Cardiff and Vale Health Board area. There were single deaths in Swansea Bay Health Board area and Aneurin Bevan Health Board area, which covers the old Gwent region and Caerphilly
County.
Wales' overall case rate now stands at 42 cases per 100,000 people over the last seven days, up slightly from 41.1. Merthyr Tydfil has the highest case rate in the country, rising from 104.4 cases per 100,000 to 131 on Saturday. Anglesey now has the second highest rate in Wales, rising from 77.1 to 87.1. Ceredigion 8.3 continues to have the lowest case rate in Wales followed by Pembrokeshire 16.7, Monmouthshire 19 and Torfaen 20.2.
In the latest PHW figures, another 34,214 vaccines
doses had been administered, taking the total number to 1,334,335. Of those
latest doses, 27,542 were first injections, while an extra 12,672 received
their second jab, to complete their full course. The total number of people who
have received a first dose in Wales now stands at 1,084,329, while 250,026 have
had both doses.
